With a wealth of over two decades of experience as a consultant ophthalmologist, Dr Ramaesh is a highly experienced eye surgeon at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow.
He studied medicine at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and received his ophthalmic training in Sri Lanka, Australia, and the UK. His areas of speciality are cataract surgery, collagen cross-linking, corneal transplants, the management of complex dry eye disorders, external eye diseases, blepharitis, allergic eye conditions, and keratoconus.
Dr. Ramaesh’s unwavering commitment to research is a testament to his dedication to advancing the field of ophthalmology. His extensive portfolio of nearly 140 peer-reviewed articles, funded by various grants, directly reflects his passion for enhancing patient outcomes.
